Here are some of our frequently asked questions about community group insurance from Zurich.

£2million Public Liability is included as standard with the option to increase to £5million at an additional cost. Other lines of cover that can be added to the policy at an additional cost include: Employers’ Liability, Trustee Indemnity, Money Cover, Personal Accident, Contents Cover and Hirer’s Liability. Yes. As long as you let Zurich know how many full time equivalent volunteers you have, they are covered under their public liability insurance as standard. Public liability cover can help protect against claims involving injury to volunteers, injury caused by volunteers to others, or damage caused by volunteers to third-party property while carrying out activities on behalf of your organisation.

No. However, there is the option to add personal accident to your policy. Personal Accident Insurance  provides financial support if an employee, volunteer or trustee is injured in a sudden, unforeseen accident while carrying out their duties. The benefits can include lump-sum payments, weekly income support and additional contributions towards related expenses. See more information on personal accident cover here.

In the weeks leading up to your renewal date, you'll receive a renewal invitation by email. You'll be asked to log in to the portal and confirm that the statements of fact relating to your organisation remain accurate and up to date. Once confirmed, you'll have the opportunity to review and make any changes to your cover if required. Your premium will remain unchanged unless you choose to amend your cover.

No. However by purchasing a policy with Zurich Insurance, they are able to help TCV provide free Community Network membership, giving groups access to valuable resources, guidance and funding opportunities such as the Chestnut Fund.
